Test your wits with CoinGate Bitcoin challenges

Do you think you know all about Bitcoin, crypto, and related technologies? Take part in CoinGate challenges, test your knowledge, and win some bits!
Why?
We are CoinGate, a Bitcoin and Altcoins payments company. Aiming to engage fellow Bitcoin enthusiasts and test their well-roundedness in a range of topics, particularly in Bitcoin history and technology, cryptography, and steganography, our team has prepared a series of challenges / quests. Since we like to think of CoinGate as a community-oriented payment gateway, we decided to use /Bitcoin as the primary medium to inform people about the challenges.
How?
The challenges are primarily intended for those who want to have some geeky fun. We encourage everyone to take part in order to test and refresh your skills and knowledge in the topics mentioned above.
Nevertheless, the end-goal of each challenge will be to get access to a Bitcoin address by finding its private key (or otherwise). Depending on the difficulty of the challenge, that address will contain a reward of 0.01 to 0.1 BTC (the prize will be sent to a Bitcoin address just before the challenge). Essentially, it is one prize - one winner, so try to be quick if you are in it to win it.
And even if you do not win the prize, we are quite sure that solving the riddles will be entertaining!
When?
Every two weeks, we will publish a challenge / quest / riddle on /Bitcoin (though we will most likely skip the uncertain times around August 1).
The first challenge with the description will be posted on the 1st of July at 6 PM UTC. In fact, to start off with a bang and keep things competitive, we will launch several challenges simultaneously - so stay tuned!
If you would like to get notified about upcoming challenges in advance, please visit our website and subscribe (we will not send you any marketing stuff or information unrelated to our challenges): https://coingate.com/challenge
Have any questions, comments or suggestions? We will be glad to hear them!
Best regards, The CoinGate Team

Win some bitcoins! – Round #4 of CoinGate Bitcoin Challenges on September 1, 6 PM UTC

Dear Redditors,
We believe this is the right time to celebrate all the things that have been going on early in August. Our team are really happy that SegWit has finally been activated and we will all soon enjoy its benefits and capabilities.
So... we are getting ready to have some fun with Bitcoin again – hope you are too?!
After a short break, CoinGate Bitcoin Challenges are resuming! Round #4 will go live at 6 PM UTC on September 1.
As always, there will be a few nice riddles and some prizes alongside, so don’t miss the chance to show off your crypto knowledge and win some bits in return!
What kind of knowledge do you need? Well, if you are okay with the technical basics of Blockchain, have a little understanding of cryptography and heard the word “steganography” before – you will be fine! But do not back down if you are not an expert - we are certain that all riddles are doable if you put some time and effort.
CoinGate appreciates all the feedback we received from you so far about the challenges. Always feel free contact us with your suggestions.
As for now, stay tuned and best of luck tomorrow! We will create a thread on Bitcoin for discussions, while the challenges will be posted on our website: https://coingate.com/challenges

Win some bitcoins! Round #2 of CoinGate Bitcoin Challenges

CoinGate Bitcoin Challenges are returning for a 2nd round, and they are going live in 1 hour, at 6 PM UTC!
Again, there will be 3 challenges. All off them will have the same goal - to gain access to a Bitcoin address by obtaining its private key, wallet seed, or by other means.
Based on the difficulty of the challenge, there will be three prizes: 0.05 BTC, 0.025 BTC and 0.025 BTC.
All three challenges will require some knowledge of Bitcoin and cryptography / ciphers.
The riddles will be rather simple, because we want them to be as accessible as possible to a wider number of people. So feel welcome to try solving them even if you aren’t that good with the above topics!
To run competition fairly, everyone will be able to view the Bitcoin addresses and see when the award was taken.

Win some bitcoins! Round #2 of CoinGate Bitcoin Challenges

We are CoinGate, a Bitcoin and Altcoins payments company. On the 1st of July, the first round of our challenge series took place on our website and on /Bitcoin (solutions available here as well). Our team is really happy with the results and the number of participants attracted. All in all, in a matter of several hours, we logged over 600 people who were up to solve the tasks!
Three challenges of varying difficulty were launched at once, and we estimated that the toughest one may take 4-6 hours to solve. We were really happy to see that participants started sharing their thoughts for solutions on our Reddit thread, even though there was only one prize for each riddle. And so all the riddles were solved and prizes snapped up within just 3 hours. Cool!
And so we have already prepared the next round of challenges - it’s all scheduled to take off at 6 PM UTC on July 15 (in less than one hour) and we are looking forward to it!
Since finding hidden messages and cipher-cracking is a significant part of these challenges, we’re inviting readers of codes to take part as well.
