Bitcoin 'uses as much global energy as Switzerland' - Currently, the tool estimates that Bitcoin is using around seven gigawatts of electricity, equal to 0.21% of the world's supply. That is as much power as would be generated by seven Dungeness nuclear power plants at once.

What happened to supply and demand? If half the oil or half the power grids disappeared wouldn't those prices go up quickly? If so, why has bitcoin price not gone up since supply was cut in half?

price is not everything, but just curious why that supply and demand is not acting the same way as it seems it should in a free market
did the demand drop the same week?
some food prices have gone up recently in a matter of weeks due to supply chains having trouble
supply and demand seems like the most basic way money and markets work

Never built a computer before, thinking about learning how, is this power supply good for pc building? Originally used for Bitcoin mining, it's pretty powerful, but is it too big and would it make sense in a computer build?

Power supply to mine bitcoin.

Hey all. I am considering mining at somewhat a larger scale. Maybe 20 each taking about 2200w. Just doing my initial research and from my understanding it's tough to get enough power for this without creating some kind of stress on the grid, possibly giving a reason for utility company to shut the power down in my end. I was just wondering what is a best route to avoid this kind of situation? Does installing a transformer help in this case. If so how expensive is that? I live in WA, USA. Thank you.
